San Antonio – Musicians provided by the Chamber Orchestra of San Antonio (COSA) will perform with the San Antonio Chamber Choir (SACC) at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rivercenter on Saturday, May 12th at 8:00 p.m. and at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13th at 3:00 p.m.

The SACC has graciously requested COSA musicians perform with the choir in presenting a program of choral masterworks by Bach and Handel. These pieces have rarely been heard in San Antonio and form a program entitled Deep Water, which reflects a precious natural resource and the spiritual refreshment of these deeply felt works: the magnificent Ascension Oratorio Lobet Gott in seinen Reichen, the stirring Cantata 131: From Out of the Depths I Cry Unto Thee, and Handel’s Coronation Anthem, The King Shall Rejoice.

“I hope that this is the first of many collaborations with COSA,” said Helen Martin, Executive Director of SACC. Lori Skinner, COSA’s Executive Director: “This type of partnership with the renowned Chamber Choir fits so well with COSA’s mission.”  On Mother’s Day weekend, honor your mother’s presence or memory by experiencing Deep Water, the closing program of the Chamber Choir’s 2011-2012 season. Tickets are available at www.sachamberchoir.org and at the door: $5 students / $15 senior & military / $20 general.
