COSA Featured in the San Antonio Business Journal
The Chamber Orchestra of San Antonio was recently featured in the San Antonio Business Journal by Mike W. Thomas. Here is an excerpt from that article:
“The Chamber Orchestra of San Antonio (COSA) will hold its first concert of the 2012-13 season on Oct. 26 at the Pearl Stable.
The program will feature “great but rarely-experienced” pieces that span five centuries of artistic movements. Each piece was chosen for its contribution to the ongoing debate over tonality in music and the essence of being.
KPAC, San Antonio’s classical music station, will record an interview with Kathleen Higgins, professor of philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin, who will discuss the connections between philosophy and music on these issues. The program will air the week before the concert.
Venezuelan-born Carlos Izcaray will fly in from his home in Berlin to serve as guest conductor. His appearance is being sponsored by the Bank of San Antonio and the concert is being underwritten by Robert Oliver, founder and board chair of the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum.”
