The Chamber Orchestra of San Antonio (COSA) is pleased to announce the selection of its first guest conductor for its inaugural concert this fall. Carlos Izcaray will travel from his home in Berlin to open COSA’s first season.

Hailed for his balance of technique and expression, the prize-winning, Spanish-Venezuelan conductor, Carlos Izcaray, has received accolades throughout Europe and North and South America. Recognized by the international press, he is already one of today’s most outstanding young conductors, with a range of repertoire that covers all performance styles.

“Conductor Carlos Izcaray made an outstanding, memorable debut, leading with idiomatic fire and elan; he’s a real find. His section of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra performed with verve” (St. Louis Post-Dispatch, May 2012).

“We’re fortunate to book a conductor of this caliber for our inaugural concert,” says Paul Montalvo, COSA’s Artistic Director. “San Antonio audiences will receive a real treat with Maestro Izcaray’s talent.”
