KLRN-TV announces a new EVP/ Station Manager to the leadership team as it begins its 50th year of service. Mario A. Vazquez brings experience, commitment to the arts, fundraising expertise and widely-respected recognition as a community leader. Effective October 10, 2011, Mario Vazquez joined KLRN as Executive Vice President and Station Manager.

He comes to KLRN from NuStar Energy where he was the head of the Contract Administration Department. His passion for the arts and education is clearly demonstrated by the organizations he serves, including: the Chamber Orchestra of San Antonio, the San Antonio River Foundation, and the Old Spanish Missions Advisory Committee. He previously served on the Board of the San Antonio Symphony, the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum and currently Co-Chairs the Mahendra and Kirti Patel Endowed Scholarship for Ethics and Humanity in Medical Education at the UTHSCSA, as well as being a Co-Chair for the UTSA “Great Conversation!” Committee.

KLRN President & CEO, William G. Moll said, “Mario brings exceptional skills to this new position. He was trained as a classical pianist, practiced as a paralegal, holds a degree in political science, and has long demonstrated a commitment of service to the communities of San Antonio, Laredo and South Central Texas.
