The Chamber Orchestra of San Antonio Announces Creation of Endowment Fund
San Antonio, January 3, 2013 – In its inaugural 2012-2013 season, the Chamber Orchestra of San Antonio (COSA) announces the creation of a $100,000 Endowment Fund. The Tobin Endowment offered a challenge grant of $50,000 that expired December 31, 2012. COSA was able to raise $57,000 (or 114%) of the challenge within a seven-week period, thereby earning the full grant.
“The Tobin Endowment is encouraged by the public support of the program offerings of the Chamber Orchestra of San Antonio and impressed by the fiscal discipline exhibited by their Board of Directors…to help provide Chamber Orchestra of San Antonio with a financial base from which to launch their future operations,” said J. Bruce Bugg, Jr., Chairman and Trustee of The Tobin Endowment.
“Starting its inaugural season with a $100,000 endowment will enable COSA to build on this gift to assure long-term sustainability. The inaugural concert was fully funded, and over 75% of this season’s budget has already been raised,” said Lori Skinner, COSA’s Executive Director. “We are positioning ourselves to grow at a sustainable level, because fiscal responsibility is just as important as artistic excellence.”
