CMI Cello Summit

Classical Music Institute (CMI) Cello Summit is an educational opportunity for local pre-college cellists in the San Antonio area.

The event consists of a masterclass taught by an artist of international acclaim for whom three (3) selected students will perform, with or without accompaniment respectively. This CMI Cello Summit artist will be Seth Russell and his masterclass will be observed by all participants.

Following the masterclass, a total of twenty (20) students will form the CMI Cello Summit Ensemble under the direction of CMI Artist-in-Residence and Education Adviser, Diego Rodriguez. The ensemble will rehearse selected music. The event will conclude with a professional video-audio recording session of the CMI Cello Summit Ensemble.

Each participating member will receive the event’s T-shirt and also up to three (3) tickets for the CMI Chamber Orchestra. For more details about the Chamber Orchestra please click here.

Application fee

The application fee is $30 to play in the masterclass and ensemble or $15 to play in the ensemble only. Application fee can be paid in person with cash or check or online via the payment gateway below.
