Taiwanese-born violinist Yung-Hsuan (Sandy) Lo is a versatile performer and dedicated educator, currently serving as Artist Faculty for the Ascend program at the Classical Music Institute in San Antonio, Texas. She previously held a position with the Grand Rapids Symphony. Her performance career has taken her across the United States, Germany, China, and Taiwan. Dr. Lo earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance from Michigan State University and a Master of Music from the University of Taipei.
Dr. Lo trained under Tao-Chang Yu, Dmitri Berlinsky, and Chiu-Sen Chen. She has also served as a guest artist at Bard Music Colombia and is committed to mentoring young musicians through culturally-engaged and community-driven education. Dr. Lo performs on a 1932 violin by Candi Cesare, on loan from the Chimei Museum Violin Collection.
